Time is flying! Hannah is 6 weeks old today. She is growing so fast -- during the past week she has started to smile for real :) It is the best! She's also cooing and making other noises in her 1st attempts at communicating (besides crying of course).
Last Monday we had another appointment with the pediatrician. Hannah weighs over 11 lbs -- that's an increase of about 20% in 3 weeks! Her face has filled out & she has cute little chubby cheeks. She's in the 95th percentile for length, but it doesn't correspond to her eventual height until she's 2 years old.
I had my 1st day away from Hannah a little over a week ago when I went to a meeting downtown. It was a tough day, but we got through it! Grandma & Grandpa Mangan took good care of her while I was gone. She took the bottle, which I was relieved about. Chris has been feeding her from the bottle when he gets home from work, so she is getting used to it. We were also able to go out for our 1st dinner alone for Chris's birthday this past week. My Mom watched Hannah while we went to a local place for sushi. So it's good to know we can go out every once in a while.
We also ventured out of the city together recently. We went out to the suburbs for a Mangan family get-together, so now Hannah has met all of her cousins & aunts & uncles! She loves being in the car as long as it's moving. We went to a pumpkin farm today with Aunt Joanne -- Hannah is really getting out & about!
Hannah has lots of new friends -- Evan Ogilvie came to visit from California last weekend. He's just 5 weeks older than Hannah. We're considering an arranged marriage for them :) We're hoping to go meet Molly Welge, just a few weeks older than Hannah sometime soon. And now Paige Brondyke has joined us -- she's only a week old, and we can't wait to meet her! Hannah also has a 2nd cousin, Maeli Smith, who is a few months older than her -- we won't get to meet her until next August but we're excited that they'll have each other to play with at the beach! All these 2008 babies! Hannah has yet to meet Charlie Lang, another 2008 bambino -- another contender for a future marriage partner. Plus there's Audrey Faley...it's pretty unbelievable how many new babies we know! Not to mention those still on the way.
Next up for Hannah is her first plane trip at the beginning of November. We're going to Maine to celebrate her cousin's 2nd birthday. We can't wait!

Oh Hannah you are growing so fast, you're parents must be doing a terrific job! I can not wait to hold you in my arms next week in Maine, Turner might get jealous because i don't think i'll be able to put you down, unless of course you have to eat and then mom she's all yours! You are such a precious little bundle Hannah and can't wait for the day that we can be a short car ride away from a playdate! Love Aunt maria, Uncle Andy and Cousin Turner!
So the pictures from Halloween were accurate...Hannah IS getting big. It took Michael 5 months to weigh 11 lbs, so she is definitely doing well (and so are her parents!). Enjoy Maine. I hope Hannah travels like a champ. Happy Birthday to Turner too!
